It has come to our attention that when our members are formally “disciplined,” some Deans are NOT advising our members that discipline is grievable under the Collective Agreement. We do not think it is good human resources practice not to advise you of this possibility when disciplined, but as it is happening, we want to ensure our members know there is a mechanism for grieving discipline.
There are only four (4) ways you can be disciplined:
- Counselling Letter
- Written warning or reprimand letter
- Suspension without pay
- Recommendation for dismissal
If you are disciplined in any way, we strongly advise that you contact the Faculty Association ([email protected]) immediately to discuss a possible grievance.
