Dear Colleagues,
As we near the end of the first month of 2023, we are engaged in the process of developing a new strategic plan for the University of Calgary. To that end, you have been invited to participate in surveys and workshops.
As you reflect and participate in this process, I hope that you will remember that the much-celebrated Eyes High Plan remains associated with low salaries, as the figure below demonstrates.
We hope the university administration realizes that this is not the way to build a strong and vibrant research university.
As the strategic direction discussions unfold, in addition to any comments you make in workshops or surveys, please remember to keep the Faculty Association informed of your concerns. You can do this by writing to the Faculty Association at [email protected] or by talking to your Department Representative, who can relay those concerns to us.
We want to ensure that academic staff views are central to any plans developed. Please help us represent you by informing us of your issues and concerns.
