The University of Calgary Faculty Association – TUCFA

TUCFA proudly represents the 2,500 academic staff members at the University of Calgary. That’s the University’s Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Sessional Instructors, Professional Librarians, Archivists, Curators in Libraries and Cultural Resources, Counsellors in the Student Wellness Services, Heads of Academic Departments, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans of Faculties, and more.

We are a democratic organization governed by by-laws instituted through membership referenda. All academic staff members of the University of Calgary are members of the Faculty Association and eligible to receive its services. It is the exclusive bargaining agent for the members of the academic staff.

We encourage two-way communication between TUCFA staff and members, so if you have any concerns or questions about working conditions, bargaining, accommodations, etc, please connect with us.

Our office is located on the 14th floor of the Education Tower. We are open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. for lunch). The office is usually closed on Fridays, but TUCFA employees remain available by phone and email.

If you have any questions or concerns about your academic activities, please contact us. When a union member contacts the Association, they will reach a TUCFA employee who will treat all communications with the utmost confidentiality. TUCFA staff are not University of Calgary employees and do not report to anyone in the University administration.
